Welcome to meatheast.com, the definitive website for the new constituency of Meath East.  The election to the 30th Dail took place on 24 May 2007 to fill 165 seats (excluding the Ceann Comhairle).  The election took place across the 43 constituencies of the State and this was the first general election for the newly created constituency of Meath East.

According to the register of electors just prior the election, the eligible electorate across all 43 constituencies stood at 3,066,517, just under 4% higher than the electorate at the 2002 General Election.

Mary Wallace was subsequently reappointed to the post of Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture while Dominic Hannigan was elected to Seanad Eireann.
